Formula One reigning champion Lewis Hamilton has claimed that he is not worried that his team Mercedes has not re-started talks for a contract extension as early as they promised, despite the Briton being in the final year of his deal.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff batted off media questions about a renewal in the final few races of 2014, saying that the two sides would sit down in the days following the final race in Abu Dhabi last November. However, months later both sides continue to insist nothing is wrong.

While teammate Nico Rosberg has signed to the end of 2016, Hamilton is in the final season of his original three-year deal at Mercedes, the Mirror reported.

The two-time Formula One champion said that as soon as he left the last race he was at the factory for a couple of days, but added that he hasn't sat down with the team. But he also said that last year they were not in a rush, insisting that they are relaxed.

Hamilton, who turned 30 earlier this month, claimed that the team has acknowledged that they want to continue with him and vice versa, so there is no stress.

The Briton said that he is comfortable and confident and trust that Mercedes are not speaking to anyone else, and insisted that they know that's the case with him.
