Kevin Pietersen has questioned the integrity of the newly appointed chairman of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Colin Graves, after he denied making any promise of Pietersen's recall to the national side.

The South Africa born batsman accused Graves of misleading him by saying that he needed to score runs in county cricket to be considered for selection, the Mirror reported.

However, Graves has denied Pietersen's accusations saying that he didn't make any promises and there were no guarantees.

He added that he cannot accept the fact that his integrity was being questioned in the past few days, insisting that it was just a private conversation where he gave him the advice.

Earlier, despite scoring 355 not out for Surrey against Leicestershire in the County Championship, the maverick batsman was rejected for making a recall to the national side by England's new Cricket director, Andrew Strauss.
