Jamaican Sprint king Bolt planning to retire post 2017 World Championships

Jamaican sprint superstar Usain Bolt has claimed that he is planning to retire in glory following the 2017 World Championships in London.

Bolt had earlier hinted that he would retire after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, but has now claimed that he would continue until 2017, although in the 100-metre dash only.

The six-time Olympic champion said that his initial plan was to retire in 2016, but added that his sponsor has asked him to go on for another year, to 2017 and London, News.com.au reported.

But, he said that he would do one event, the 100 metres, and added that he has already discussed it with his coach, insisting that he can concentrate on that, and on retiring on a winning note.

Bolt's main focus for 2015 would be the World Championships in Beijing in August and he is hoping to add to his collection of eight world titles and also wants to break the 100-metre world record of 9.58 seconds that he set at the 2009 worlds in Berlin.

The Jamaican said that it takes races, but added that if everything goes well this season anything is possible in his life. He insisted that if he could get himself in good shape, it should be wonderful this season.

Bolt claimed that he lives for competition, thrives on competition and lives to compete against the best, adding that it means a lot when one beats the best.
