Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur who was with the Indian team during their West Indies tour, has been awarded a national call-up in place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar who got injured during the second Test against New Zealand in Kolkata.

Bhuvneshwar, who sustained a back strain, has been ruled out of the third Test which is scheduled to take place at Indore from October 8. The pacer had a brilliant outing at Eden Gardens as he grabbed a fifer in the first innings and helped his team with a vital knock of 23 in the second.

Umesh Yadav is another speedster in the Indian team, who is in line to replace Bhuvneshwar in the playing XI. India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series but Bhuvneshwar's injury will force Virat Kohli to change his plans.
