On a flat batting pitch, Wriddhiman Saha made merry. He made the most of the life he got when his opposite number Mushfiqur Rahim missed an easy stumping. That proved costly as Saha went on to score 102 more to finish with 106 not out.
While cherishing his second Test century in 20th Test, Saha still rated his two half-centuries in his home ground Kolkata against New Zealand higher.
“I value the two half-centuries against New Zealand more because the team needed my contribution. We needed partnerships and the quality of bowling was good. We needed to set a target of 300 and taking all these into account, those two 50s were vital. That said, this hundred is a special milestone, more so for me as I have played only 20 Tests,” the wicketkeeper-batsman said.
