All hell broke loose as Virat Kohli's all-conquering Test team's 19-match unbeaten run came to a screeching halt on Saturday with Australia inflicting a 333-run defeat on the hosts in Pune.

It took the Aussies exactly 4,502 days to win a Test in India and that opened a little avenue for the Indian fans to criticise the same team which had performed outstandingly for the past one and half years to reach the top of ICC rankings. Social media platforms were flooded with hate messages for Kohli's men and people so easily forgot the achievements of their heroes.

However, there was one man on Twitter, who having experienced all kinds of fan reactions during his 14-year-long international career, made the most logical request to the ever so demanding supporters.

"Good friends make even difficult times easier. It's disappointing but r you a good friend? Time to be a good friend&continue to support Team," tweeted former opening batsman Virender Sehwag.

Unheralded left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe grabbed a sensational match-haul of 12 wickets as a sloppy India slumped to a humiliating defeat inside three days on Saturday. The visitors set a daunting target of 441, riding on skipper Steve Smith's batting masterclass on a rank turner, and then skittled out the hapless hosts for a paltry 107 in 33.5 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

However, Sehwag sounded optimistic about India's chances in the four match series.
