Champions League T20 may be another tournament for Royal Challengers Bangalore to end their trophy drought, but for Indian players in the team, it’s also an opportunity to showcase their talent against the best teams of the world and catch the attention of the national selectors.

A perfect example being Mohd Kaif — once a match-winner for India, he last played an international match way back in November 2006. For him, CLT20 means lot more than just another tournament.

“It’s also a big opportunity for me. I need to win some matches for RCB and yeah, I am looking forward to it. It’s going to be a good challenge,” said Kaif. “Of course, this is a big platform. People are watching you and they know what you are doing,” he added.

Kaif, who has added responsibility in the middle order due to the absence of injured Cheteshwar Pujara, wants to do well as he believes he has lot left in him.

For Abhimanyu Mithun, who has played four Tests and two ODI’s, this tournament is yet another opportunity. “It’s another opportunity for me to test my skills and to perform better in T20. If you do well, you’ll be noticed,” he pointed out.

Apart from impressing the selectors, it’s also an opportunity for players to learn from the multi-nation tournament.  “You feel very good playing with and also against the international stars here. You get to learn a lot,” said Saurabh Tiwary.
