Defending champion India continued their winning streak in the ongoing T20 World Cup for Blind as they clinched their sixth win of the tournament by thrashing New Zealand by nine wickets here at the KIIT Stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing a lowly target of 137 run to win, opener Sukhram Majhi and first down batsman Ajay Kumar Reddy smashed blistering half-centuries besides sharing a huge 130-run partnership for second wicket to help India come out victorious in just nine overs.
While Manjhi smashed 11 boundaries in his 25-ball knock of 56 runs, Reddy slammed 14 boundaries in his 75-run knock of 28 deliveries. India's final score read 140-1.
Earlier, Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on New Zealand's top-order to restrict them to a score of 136-6 in their stipulated 20 overs. Iqbal Jafar bagged two wickets while Ketan Patel chipped in with a wicket. India will next lock horns with Nepal on Wednesday.
