Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh struggled to a one-over 73 in the second round of the Nordea Masters here on Friday, but kept alive his chances of making the weekend action.

The veteran Indian, who has won four times on European Tour, but not since the Scottish Open in 2012, is now even par 144 for 36 holes after a first round 71.

His colleague Shiv Kapur will however find it difficult to slip inside the cut line as he added a 74 to his first round 72. Daniel Chopra, the Indo-Swede missed the cut with rounds of 71 and 78.

Amateur golfer Marcus Kinhult was impressive for the second day running as he added 68 to his first round 67 and is now nine-under 135 through 36 holes. He is two clear of Maximilian Kieffer (68-69). Jens Danthorp was still on course at three-under through five holes after a five-under 67 on first day.

The 18 year old Swede proved that his first round 67 was no fluke with a solid effort in the second round. He made five birdies in his 68 to gain a two stroke advantage over Sebastian Soderberg and Maximilian Kieffer.

Jeev starting on the tenth had seven straight pars, before his first bogey and it was followed by another at second at which point he was in danger of going down further.

But the 43 year old birdied par-4 fifth and the par-5 8th before another bogey at the ninth.

Shiv, too, had seven pars before a bogey and then bogeys on first and second saw him slip. A birdie on fifth was small consolation in a 74.
