Fringe players will have a chance to prove their mettle, when Manoj Tiwary-led India A take on Sri Lanka, in a warm up ODI match, on Thursday.

The tour game, at the Brabourne Stadium, also provides Rohit Sharma a chance to prove his fitness, and get back into the Indian team, for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Mahrashtra's Kedar Jadhav, a hard-hitting middle-order batsman, can fight for a spot in the Indian World Cup squad, with the tournament only a few months away.

Delhi's Unmukt Chand would also be itching to show his worth, after having scored unbeaten knocks of 79 and 101, against the West Indies, in two warm-up matches played in October.

Amongst the all-rounders, Karnataka's Stuart Binny and Jammu and Kashmir's Parveez Rasool, would strive to get a look in the Indian ODI side.

With Mahendra Singh Dhoni in urgent need of a bowling all-rounder, the selectors will be keenly following the duo's performance.

The match is also a good platform for youngsters, Karnataka's Manish Pandey and Uttar Pradesh 'Chinaman' bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who earned his maiden call-up against the West Indies, to showcase their talent and force their way into national reckoning.

Mumbai pacer Dhawal Kulkarni, included in the Indian ODI team in place of the injured Mohamad Shami, can make an impression and prove he is a good 'death' bowler.

Sri Lanka too have a few things to look forward to in their lone warm-up game, before the start of the five-match ODI series, on November 2 at Cuttack.
