The event was flagged off by Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. Coulthard, a 13-time Grand Prix winner, had taken the car for a spin on Sea Link in Mumbai in 2009. He later told the reporters that it was fantastic to be back in India.

"It's always a special feeling to drive a Formula 1 car for the sheer thrill of the fans and it was incredible to take the car for a spin at such an iconic location. Going by the crowd reaction, they enjoyed the motorbike and the car. I enjoyed the opportunity to bring Formula 1 to the people again," Coulthard said. Aras too said he was quite excited. "It's an impressive moment," he said.
