The  much awaited autobiography of batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar ‘Playing it My Way’ is set for release in Mumbai on Wednesday. The book's excerpts gave rise to startling and shocking revelations. Four things that came out of Tendulkar's book:

A time when the 'Master Blaster' Tendulkar wanted to quit cricket:

After the West Indies tour concluded Sachin confided in Anjali (wife) that he feared there was nothing he could do to stop the tide of defeats. He says that he was left badly scarred after losing close games. The batting legend was seriously beginning to doubt if he could give even 0.1% more after he had put in all his efforts.

Greg Chappell and captaincy affair

Just months before the World Cup, Chappell went to visit him at his home and, much to his disbelief, he suggested that Tendulkar take over the captaincy from Rahul Dravid. Anjali, who was sitting by his side, was equally shocked to hear him say that ‘together, we could control Indian cricket for years,’ and that he would help Tendulkar in taking over the reins of the side.

Ganguly backs Sachin’s claims:

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly revealed that Rahul Dravid was aware of Greg Chappell's intentions during his stint as India coach but he “could not control” the Australian.

Rahul Dravid disinterested

Rahul Dravid said he was never “privy to any private conversation between two individuals” about Sachin Tendulkar’s revelation in his upcoming autobiography about Greg Chappell wanting to replace the batting great as a captain with Master Blaster just before 2007 World Cup.

Now we are eagely waiting for the book to release to read more juicy tidbits about Indian cricket from the last two decades.
