Ousted England batsman Kevin Pietersen is reportedly set to resume his cricket career in South Africa within a fortnight.
Pietersen, who is a free agent since his Surrey contract expired at the end of August, is in South Africa on a safari holiday and may feature in the Ram Slam T20 tournament.
Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith was appointed competition director in 2014, with the aim of improving the quality of imports. Though negotiations are at the final stages with several internationals, still the names have not been revealed as of yet, The Mirror reported.
A Cricket South Africa (CSA) spokesman said that they would most likely be making an announcement next week once contracts have been finalised.
Although Pietersen would fit the bill in terms of profile, his form in 2014 has been cagey, with just one score above 50 in 10 months. He is scheduled to play for Melbourne Stars in Australia's Big Bash League later in 2014.
Featuring in the Ram Slam would offer Pietersen a chance to warm up for some much needed competitive action, the report added.
