Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that he will retire from football after his stint at Old Trafford ends.

Van Gaal, who is contracted to United until 2017, has coached some of Europe's biggest clubs, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax, in his career.

Reflecting on his decision, the Dutchman said that he was old and this was his last job, adding that he has to pay attention to his kids; his grandchildren but also to his wife as they deserve it, the BBC reported.

Currently, United are fourth in the Premier League table, one point behind third-placed Arsenal and will next face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
