West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle is optimistic that his team would tour South Africa in December, despite a pay dispute with the country's cricket board.
Gayle hoped that things would be resolved, and they can get a green light from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to go ahead and play against South Africa.
The West Indians pulled midway out of their recent India tour, with an ODI, T20 International and three Tests remaining, Sport24 reported.
Gayle said that it is unfortunate where things are at the moment, but added that these things tend to happen in industries. He added that before he left the Caribbean, there was a meeting between Dwayne Bravo and the board, but revealed that he doesn't know what the outcome was.
He said that it would make the people feel happy to see some good cricket.
The West Indies is scheduled to play three Tests, three T20 Internationals and five ODIs in South Africa, kicking off with the first Test at Centurion, on December 17, the report added.
