London: Chelsea has been reportedly left red-faced for sending a letter to the residents asking them to prepare for a victory parade if they bag the Premier League or Champions League title.

Chelsea, who had been dominating the Premier League table earlier this season, lost 2-1 in their recent clash at home to Sunderland City, which has left their title dreams hanging by a thread.

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea had said in their letter that they are writing to give the residents a very early warning of a possible Chelsea FC victory parade if the club is successful as they pursue the league titles next month.

The letter, distributed by Hammersmith & Fulham Council and posted on 101GreatGoals, also stated that while the club and their three councils understand that success is far from certain, they believed that the responsible thing to do was to give the people as much notice of the date as possible.

Chelsea will face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, the report added.
