England batsman Paul Collingwood, who is playing in the Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers, said that Australia's resurgence against India is not a cause of worry for Andrew Strauss' Test team.

Applauding Michael Clarke for his triple century, Collingwood said his developing side would gain confidence from its powerful performance against India.

He said that Australia still had plenty of work ahead to achieve consistency, and added it was hard to judge the Australians on their performance against an Indian side that was beaten 4-0 by England last winter.

"It's been interesting since Michael Clarke took over to see the results. They have been up and down," said Collingwood.

"Michael Clarke is obviously leading from the front. The captaincy tends to suffocate many players but that doesn't seem to have happened with Michael Clarke. It's an unbelievable effort to get more than 300," The Age quoted him, as saying.

Australia can move to third position in the world rankings by achieving a series clean sweep against India.

Collingwood said, "England is very much focused on the direction they are going in and don't look that far around the world at what other teams are doing nowadays."
