Boxer Mary Kom to be part of Kolkata school festival

Mary Kom will visit the city late this week when she will participate in a programme of Ashok Hall Group of schools as its chief guest.

The group is set to celebrate 'Spectrum', which it holds every four years, on January 17 and January 18.

"Mary Kom is the chief guest of the event of January 17," GD Birla principal S Nath said. The event will involve close to 10,000 students of GD Birla Centre of Education, Ashok Hall and Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar that are part of the group, Nath said.

Ashok Hall principal M Ghosh said the group involves each of its students for this mega event which allows them to learn something beyond routine curriculam.
