Amul dedicates 'Butter Ratna' ad to cricket God and legend Sachin Tendulkar

After playing his 200th Test against the West Indies on Saturday, Sachin Tendulkar hung his bat scoring 74 in his last innings, a knock that saw vintage shots played by the man known as the 'Little Master'.

Dairy products company, Amul that lauds itself as being the taste of India for its well known witty ads featuring the famous 'Amul girl' paid tribute to Tendulkar with an ad last week.

The ad showed a cartoon character who looks like Sachin during his younger days with long curly locks is seen eating a slice of bread with butter as he bats in front of stumps with the Amul girl behind looking on with admiration.

In the new ad post Sachin's retirement a cartoon who looks like the great batsman is seen sitting on a throne with a stump in one hand and a slice of bread with butter on it in the other dressed in white Test match clothes with the hat Sachin wears.

The Amul girl is behind the seat gesturing perfect and looking on with awe. The text reads, 'Butter Ratna' and there is also additional text that says, 'Maa tujhe Sachin ka salaam'.

The reference to Sachin Tendulkar being honoured by the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour and his speech where he equated playing for India to being the greatest honour is clear.
