Air India's gift to Sakshi Malik will surely bring a smile to your face

Sakshi Malik has become the country's new hero. After the Haryana wrestler clinched bronze in the Repechage round, no opportunity is being spared to give the country's first medalist at Rio Olympics a champion's welcome. 

Apart from being promised cash prizes from the Haryana government and Railways ministry, the Indian National carrier, Air India, on Friday offered two complimentary business class tickets to Sakshi and her companion.

It was in a recent interview Sakshi had revealed that one of her biggest dreams as a child was to travel in a plane. Air India not only took note of it but also gifted her two return business class tickets from any destinations of her choice.

"Air India is indeed proud to offer you two (for you and your companion) return business class tickets between any two destinations of the entire Air India network valid for a period of one year," Air India Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani said in a letter addressed to Sakshi.

"The entire Air India family is proud that you have won the first medal for the country in the Rio Olympics", the letter said adding, "Indeed your victory has made all of us very happy."
