Twitter has begun rolling out the ability to create and run a poll right within a Tweet. In what will be yet another way for users, personalities and brands to engage with their audiences, this new feature delivers a real-time dashboard to any question that has two choices.
Until now, the only way to implement polls on Twitter was to hack its current functionality: having people RT or Favourite to relate to a choice a or choice b, or asking questions and having people reply accordingly. But that was just clunky. The new Twitter poll feature brings the ability to natively embed an a/b choice directly within a Tweet. These Tweet-polls will be active for only 24 hours, and to ensure anonymity the participant’s choice is not revealed.
Amitabh Bachchan and All India Bakchod were two of the first few Indian Twitter personalities to use this feature.

The functionality will be rolling out across Twitter’s desktop, Android and iOS clients over the next few days. So the next time you want your followers to weigh in on what to suggest you have for dinner, or want to rally the masses toward your favourite cricket team, here’s a good social weapon of choice.
