Xiaomi launches Mi 4 in India for Rs 19,999, pre-registrations available on Flipkart

Also introduces MIUI 6, an update to its Android KitKat mod.

Xiaomi India today announced the launch of their flagship smartphone, the Mi 4, for Rs 19,999. The phone is making its way to India after its release abroad in 2014.

The follows Xiaomi's standard aesthetics with a 5-inch 1080p HD screen (441ppi), powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and 3GB DDR3 RAM. It has 16GB of internal memory (expandable to 64GB) and runs on a 3080 mAh battery with QuickCharge 2.0. Mi 4 also includes a 13MP rear camera, and a wide-angle (80°) front-facing 8MP camera, both with an f1.8 aperture.
 
The Mi 4 will be on sale on February 10, and pre- registrations for the device will start at 6pm on January 28, exclusively through Flipkart.

Mi India also took the wraps off MIUI 6, which the Mi4 runs on and is based on Android KitKat 4.4.4. Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi Global, said, “I am truly excited to be bringing the Mi 4 to India, after listening to the feedback of so many fans. The Xiaomi team has put a lot of effort into designing a gorgeous device packed with powerful specs, and I trust that Mi 4 will be warmly welcomed by all our Indian fans. I believe India Mi fans will love MIUI 6, the most exciting update to our software platform to date.”
