Pune: For those who don’t enjoy the festival of colours, or are just away from home and missing out on the fun, your iPhone can be your best friend.
An interesting app for the iOS platform, iHoli lets you splash colours on photographs with a mere tap. It boasts of a ‘wide range of colors and splashes’, and since its not real, the colours are safe and organic.
Developed by Extentia Information Technology, the app let’s you share your colourful pictures on the web.
For those who are playing with real colours, you can use the app to Google-search for Holi-related songs, and liven up your party. And if you’re the knowledge-hungry, or SMS-sending kinds then the app has something in it for you too.
That said, the makers are not too keen on launching the app across other popular mobile computing platforms such as Android and Windows Phone, despite the former enjoying more popularity in the Indian markets.
While the developers do have plans to roll it out on other platforms based on the response received for this paid app, rest assured, you can’t play a ‘smart holi’ this year during the festival on your Android or WP, in the future may be.
At the launch of the app, Umeed Kothavala, CEO of Extentia Information Technology, said, “We’re delighted to offer the innovative iHoli application in time for the 2014 festival. It’s all about sharing the Holi spirit and having fun, and we saw an opportunity here with our mobile expertise.
The app offers photo sharing, photo coloring, information on Holi, and a search for music feature. We hope that users in India and Indian communities worldwide will find this app convenient as they celebrate Holi this year. The iHoli app will be extended to other mobile platforms as well.” Be prepared though to fork out $0.99 (Rs60) to own the app though.
