Twitter's IPO event from the New York Stock Exchange

In a first for the NYSE, Twitter's IPO will be live streamed from the floor. The show kicks off at approximately 7.45pm IST.

Twitter begins trading publicly for the first time, with an initial price set at $26 per share.

Twitter chose to go public on the NYSE over the all-electronic Nasdaq. One of the reasons why Twitter likely chose the NYSE over the Nasdaq has to do with problems Facebook faced with its Nasdaq-listed IPO last year.

The shares will be traded under the symbol TWTR.
