Twitter is currently in discussions with Apple to introduce a tvOS version of twitter, which would be compatible with the tvOS version Twitter, which would be capable of supporting live video streams.

According to a report by New York Times, the tvOS app would further bolster Twitter's efforts in live streaming, which include sports, news and other video content properties. Twitter wants to capitalize on a live streaming deal inked with the NFL earlier this year for streaming rights to ten Thursday night games.

Twitter had agreed to pay the N.F.L. around $10 million to stream 10 games and to reportedly sell only a portion of the ad inventory exclusively. Twitter’s first Thursday Night Football live stream will take place on September 15.
