The urge to click the self-photograph seems to have become a big part of people's lives today and this trend has now managed to find it's way to video games, taking this fad to a whole new level. The video game industry has taken notice and are using this in-game to give players something more to do.

One of the games taking advantage of the trend is Mortal Kombat X, one of the most popular fighting games. The game includes a selfie fatality, where the playable character Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Mortal Kombat classics Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade finishes off her opponent. When Cassie reaches the end of the fatality, she takes out a smartphone, and captures a selfie with the loser’s character and then uploads the same to Mortal Kombat X's version of Facebook, which is called Friendships. You can also see other fighter's have commented on her upload which makes this fatality the most culturally relevant fatality I have ever seen.

I spotted a few more selfies in some of the popular games like Far Cry and Metal Gear Solid.
