State of Decay starts by putting you in an immersive open world in the midst of a zombie apocalypse and lets you experience the story as the game plays out. The storyline revolves around a bunch of survivors getting together and looking for the best way they can ensure their survival. Their journey to involves gathering supplies and weapons to defend themselves against both starvation and the zombies.

As a gamer, honestly this wouldn’t be my first choice of game because I found that the storyline of the game could have been better explained. In the starting of the game, I felt like I needed to watch the game trailer before starting the game and found myself going back to YouTube a few times.
I found myself getting a hang of the characters of State Of Decay fairly quicker than most games I’ve played and I really liked that about the game. The game also allowed me to switch between different characters enabling me to experience the story from multiple perspectives. State of Decay allows for players to enjoy the experience irrespective of the learning curve I really liked that advantage.
This edition of State of Decay includes the two pieces of downloadable content previously released and graphical updates.The game could have been polished a little more when it comes to combat and animations in general. Without that polish, the game feels a little clunky. Since the game was first released in 2013, I feel like this polish should not be lacking in a year one edition.
Overall, the graphics are slightly better than the original which doesn’t affect the game much as the appeal of the game isn’t in the graphics. The game does one thing really well which is being able to integrate the zombie apocalypse with a sense of realism which I feel many games lack.
The zombies were by far the best part of the whole State Of Decay experience for me, I enjoyed smashing their heads off more than scavenging for supplies.Overall, I felt that the experience of playing State Of Decay was interesting and entertaining and something I would curiously explore.
