As the only gym buff in the office I got first dibs on the Gear S2. The watch has an extremely sleek finish; it’s so good that I often find myself staring at it for no apparent reason.

Putting aside the obvious feeling I have for my new gadget, the first thing I noticed off the bat was the navigation dial that makes life a whole lot easier. Interface-wise, I haven't had any major problems as yet, everything works exactly how one would expect.

However, if you're planning to hit the gym with the Gear 2, I would advise against it. I almost scratched it up while doing a drop-set of Cable Crossover and besides that it doesn't add anything to your workouts, at least I haven't noticed anything, so let's just say it isn't suitable for a hardcore gym session.

What it does have is an app called S Health that tracks a bunch of cardiovascular exercises like running, walking, cycling, hiking, elliptical training, exercise bike and step machine. So far I’ve only tried running and cycling with the app booted and it work just fine, it shows you the calories you've burnt, your heart rate and a timer for your workout.

The leather strap along with the reasonably sized screen on the Samsung Gear 2 Classic gets my approval, it has a masculine look to it which I'm a big fan of.

As of now, everything works and looks great but check out our full deep-dive review in a few days.
