Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge launched in India

Samsung has just officially announced announced the release of their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones in India, and they come at a staggering price.

The handsets were initially revealed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year, with aircraft-grade metal bodies and Gorilla Glass 4 front and back panels. The screens are 5.1" Super AMOLED 1440x2560 displays, with the S6 edge having curved screens on it's left and right edges. The phones have 64-bit Octa Core Exynos 7420 processors, 3GB DDR4 RAM and come in three variants of internal memory: 32GB, 64GB, and 128 GB. The phones do not support external memory cards. Both phones have a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie cam, with the Galaxy S6 powered by a 2550mAh battery and the S6 edge backed by a 2600mAh battery. The phones also have the wireless supercharging feature built-in, capable of giving 4 hours of battery life on just 10 minutes of charge. Both run the Android 5 Lollipop OS with TouchWiz UI.

The Galaxy S6 is priced at Rs 49,900 for the 32GB version, Rs 55,900 for 64GB, and Rs 60,900 for 128GB. The S6 Edge, meanwhile is priced at Rs 58900 for 32 GB, Rs 64,900 for 64GB, and Rs 70,900 for 128GB. Preorders are open today and the phone will be in stores Apri 10.
