"This release is just a first step toward bringing you a richer, more enjoyable web experience. We look forward to introducing more improvements in 2014," said Vine engineer Janessa Det.

Twitter has launched Vine for the Web today. Now, you can watch all Vine videos on your desktops. There is also a full screen mode for better experience.

All the features that are available in Vine’s mobile app like seeing home feed, liking, commenting and sharing videos are also available on the desktop version. However, the TV mode is exclusively available to the Web.

Twitter promises today’s launch is just version 1.0 and that users should thus expect new features.

You can find the desktop version here.

"This release is just a first step toward bringing you a richer, more enjoyable web experience. We look forward to introducing more improvements in 2014," said Vine engineer Janessa Det.

This move clearly indicates the trend of how things are first being developed on mobile first and then being brought to desktops. Twitter has introduced the desktop version to enhance  the Vine experience for Twitter users. However,I think most users will continue to use the mobile app as it is travel friendly and convenient.
