If you are one of those Android users that has a Qualcomm chipset which most of the smartphones around do, you're in luck. SnoopSnitch is an app that collects and processes your mobile's radio data to make you aware of your mobile network security and warn you about threats like user tracking, fake base stations and SS7 attacks.

To set up SnoopSnitch you have to root your Android device, which might void your warranty but it's up to you to decide if the trade off is worth it. The security threats which SnoopSnitch will provide you information on require "root" or administrator privileges on your phone because they provide you with information at the carrier level.

SnoopSnitch is a community driven effort and runs on information provided by the users and by choosing to upload your measurement results or security events, you help improve the database and support future research. SnoopSnitch will ask for your permission whenever they are uploading any information to their servers and they do this in an encrypted manner.

As of now SnoopSnitch supports Android devices running version 4.1 or higher and CyanogenMod on some devices besides which no custom ROM's are officially supported. For a complete list of supported devices you can visit - https://opensource.srlabs.de/projects/snoopsnitch/wiki/DeviceList .
