'Microsoft Solitaire' launches on iOS, Android

The Windows 8 and Windows 10 version of Solitaire is joined by Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Pyramid and Tripeaks as part of "Microsoft Solitaire Collection."

Daily Challenges and multiple levels of difficulty are part of the modern twist, as are adverts, whose presence can be removed via an in-app purchase.

Friend scoreboards are available through the use of Microsoft's Xbox Live gaming platform.

The Windows 10 editions offered a premium edition of the game for $1.50 per month, as PC World pointed out at the time.

The mobile benefits of that Premium Edition upgrade, which also include game boosts and double coins for Daily Challenges, are being offered for free as an additional sweetener during the collection's first month of availability.
