Microsoft had recently announced the first in its newly branded non-Nokia line, and they finally launched the Microsoft Lumia 535 today .

Shipping with the Windows Phone 8.1 OS and the latest firmware update, Lumia Denim, the dual-sim phone is priced at Rs. 9,199 and comes in Bright green, bright orange, white and black. Microsoft says it is aiming to give smartphone users more for less, and they seem to be treading that line decently, albeit maybe falling a little short on the hardware offering.

Snapdragon 200 Quad-core processor clockig in at 1.2GHz, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, expandable upto 128 GB and 15 GB free cloud storage keep this piece of hardware relevant. Meanwhile the 5" LCD screen with 220 ppi (960x540) display and 5 MP rear and front camera might be a slight letdown for the photography enthusiast. Combine all that with a 1905 mAh battery, and it may seem like there's quite a bit lacking, but it's ultimately do-able for the low price tag attached to it.

The pre-installed Denim update adds a lot of features like sying "Hey Cortana" to wake up the phone's interactive search assistant and faster shooting speeds for the camera.
