Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch a record 104 satellites, including India's earth observation satellite, on a single rocket.

In an official statement, Rao said by launching simultaneously 104 satellites into the orbit, ISRO has demonstrated to the world the Indian capabilities in the space technology.

"It is a proud moment for the country and its space scientists that we are the first country to have successfully launched 104 satellites into the space, thereby creating a world record," he said.

According to the release, the Chief Minister expressed hope that ISRO would continue to make such experiments in science and technology for the development of mankind.

Scripting history, India today successfully launched a record 104 satellites--all but three of them foreign--from here and put them into orbit in a single mission onboard its most dependable Polar rocket.

Recording its 38th consecutive success, ISRO's workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) injected India's weather observation Cartosat-2 Series satellite and 103 nano satellites into precise orbit in a gap of 30 minutes after a textbook lift-off from Sriharikota.
