PriceSpy, a consumer aid website based in the UK, has released an interactive map of the history of game developers around the world.
The timeline begins by marking Nintendo's rise, mass producing Hanafuda playing cards, in 1889 and begins to snowball after Nintendo first released its home entertainment system in 1983. Blips on the map mark each major game developer that's contributed to the field, up until present day, even detailing their closure (if at all) some of the games they've produced, and a brief synopsis of their history.
If you're curious (and it will take quite a while to read every entry on this map) check it out here.
