Feeling nostalgic thinking of all the fun you had playing classic video games? Fondly remembering all the joys and frustrations of Super Marios Bros, Megaman, Super Contra, and Zelda? Here’s a fix -- you can easily play retro games from the Nintendo Entertainment System where all you require is an Android smartphone and an internet connection.

Step 1: First up, you will need an NES emulator. There are plenty of them available on the Google Play Store, although we recommend downloading and installing Nostalgia.NES. However, if you want to play multiplayer games with a buddy, try 2P NES Emulator.

Step 2: Next you will need a ROM of the game you want to play i.e. the digital equivalent of a game cassette. You can find plenty of them on the Web, for every gaming platform under the sun. Remember to use the NES ROM suffix when searching for games, for example, Megaman NES ROM, Contra NES ROM, Mario NES ROM  etc.

Step 3: After you've downloaded the game ROMs, launch the emulator on your smartphone. Navigate to the option to load a game, and it’ll bring you to a file explorer screen. Navigate to the folder where you’ve saved your ROMs and fire the game up by tapping on it. Enjoy!

Hint: You can similarly also play GameBoy games on your smartphone, with the right emulator and ROMs. And if you’d rather play these games on your computer, you can check out this website -- Click here -- where you can play classic NES games right within your Web browser.
