In this guide, we will show you how to jailbreak the newer models of Kindle which include Kindle Oasis, Kindle Voyage, Kindle Touch 2, Kindle Touch 3, and Paperwhite 3. The upgrade will give your Kindle access to range of features like custom screen savers, a video player, low-power display and more.
Step 1: Start off by backing up your data, then factory reset your device. Tap on the Menu option at the top right of the screen, then tap Settings. Next, tap the Menu option then choose Reset Device.
Step 2: You will need to install a downgraded firmware. To do so, head over to this website and download the BIN file for your particular Kindle variant. It can be found in the “Factory downgrade update files”. Now connect the device to a computer, copy the BIN file into the Root folder of your device storage, then disconnect the Kindle from the computer. Now open the Settings screen, tap Menu, then choose Update Your Kindle.
Once the jailbreak completes successfully, you can install the latest firmware without losing the jailbreak.
Step 3: Download “Branch Delay” jailbreak file from here. Plug your Kindle into a computer via a USB cable, copy the Branch Delay files to the Root folder of your device, then disconnect your Kindle. From the Search bar type ‘installHtml’ then tap the Enter key. You will then see a book called “You are Jailbroken,” after your device reboots.
Step 4: To protect your Kindle from updates you will need to download the Hot Fix file from here. Connect your device to a computer using a USB cable < Unzip the Hot Fix file then copy and paste the BIN file into the Root folder of your device. Disconnect your device from the computer, then from the Settings menu tap the Menu. Now tap Update Your Kindle and choose Ok. Hope you Enjoy the additional features.
