To mark Mother's Day, today, Google has a playful and interactional doodle on its search page.

On a day that is dedicated to mothers and will see many show their appreciation to their moms and mother figures worldwide, clicking the play button starts an interactive session where a gift can be prepared for your mother.

The doodle also shows a search icon at the lower right part which on clicking sends the user to a search results page for Mother's Day.

There is also an option to print a picture of a cartoon mother and child which you can gift your mother on this special day incase you are not interested in the commercial and over the top gifts available in the market. And this will definitely remind your mom of your childhood crayon drawings that were on display on the fridge notice board at home.

What started in the United States of America in 1908 when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother, Mother's Day has now become a famous celebration. Jarvis then began a campaign to make Mother's Day a recognised holiday in the US. It became an official US holiday in 1914, which was also adopted by other countries including India.

In India, Mother's Day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May. In some countries Mother's Day is celebrated on a day that is significant to the majority religion, such as Virgin Mary day in Catholic countries.

The doodle surely will remind you to call or visit your mother to wish her and thank her for all that she has done for you.
