Facebook Messenger may soon get an update that users have been begging for. Images leaked on Twitter indicated that Facebook Messenger may soon get a 'disappearing messages' feature.

A tweet from iOSAppChanges shows ‏screenshots from user Luigi Lucarelli using Facebook Messenger v68.0 for iOS. Even though this version is currently available on Apple’s App Store the new feature is ambiguously missing, although the app could possibly be tinkered with in the same way another user got a ‘3D touch’ feature to work on Google’s Android N developers preview.

The feature allows users to the delete their messages after a predetermined period of time which the user decides (look like Facebook got the interests of every hopeless romantic in mind). If the screenshots aren’t fake, then users can have their messages disappear after one minute, fifteen minutes, an hour, four hours or a day.

As of now, we can’t confirm if these images are legitimate but considering that Facebook was reportedly testing a disappearing messaging feature in France this particular rumor may have some substance.
