Leading Ubisoft's briefing was a choreographed performance of Queen's up-tempo "Don't Stop Me Now," with "Just Dance 2017" setting a tone that said "I'm the craziest of 2016's E3 presentations, but, for a change, in a good way." Launching on "all consoles" in October, "Just Dance 2017" also became the first non-Nintendo game announced for 2017's new Nintendo console, the NX.

Who wouldn't feel a little proud, announcing a Virtual Reality tie-in for the "Star Trek" universe? Not only that, but Ubisoft corralled a quartet of "Star Trek" actors from film and TV to test it out and then relay their enthusiastic astonishment. "This is it!" squealed TV legend LeVar Burton, Geordi LaForge of "The Next Generation," who also appeared on stage. Out this fall on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive (Windows PC) and PlayStation VR (PS4).

Adorable experimental exploration game "Grow Home," the story of a clambering robot bringing a planet back to life, became Ubisoft's fastest-downloaded title with 2 million installs -- no doubt being made available for free to upwards of 10m PlayStation Plus members helped things along a little. This time, things get more ambitious as happy chappy robot BUD sets out on his own. August 2016 on PS4, XBO and PC.
