Apple’s next iPhone, could be the company’s biggest upgrade yet. According to rumours, the iPhone 8 could come with wireless charging, along with a new OLED display.

Foxconn, one of Apple’s manufacturing partners, is reportedly making wireless charging modules to go with Apple's next iPhone, which is due for release in 2017. An unidentified source spoke with the Nikkei and stated, “But whether the feature can eventually make it into Apple's updated devices will depend on whether Foxconn can boost the yield rate to a satisfactory level later on.” At the moment, there is no clarity whether all iPhone models which will release next year, will sport wireless charging.

Android-based competitor Samsung currently offers wireless charging on the Galaxy S line of smartphones. It's not clear whether Apple will offer a charging plate, similar to Samsung.

Recently, Sharp President Tai Jeng-wu confirmed that the next-gen iPhone will include an OLED display. However, he did not specific as to which model would have this display incorporated. Other smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Xiaomi all use OLED screens for their smartphones.
