Apple introduces low price tier for India; now get apps for Rs 10

Apple has dropped prices across the iTunes store in many countries, as evidenced by an email it sent out to developers a few days ago.

9to5mac.com had access to the email, which states that app prices in Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey are being raised. South Korea has a new 10% value added tax to deal with, hence the price rise, while the changes in the other three countries are due to fluctuating echange rates. 

Meanwhie a new low-tier pricing system has also been introduced in Turkey, Mexico, South Africa, Russia, Indonesia, and India, with Tier A and Tier B prices. The new prices have been implemented to allow developers to capture audiences in price-sensitive countries and emergin markets. Tier b will allow a developer to price their app at Rs 30, and Tier A sets it at Rs 10, the lowest amount that can be charged. That's about US $0.16, where the minimum amount used to be Rs  60 or US $0.96.
