It’s a common known fact that selfie was the ‘Word of the year’ in 2013 and that social media has gone buzzing with selfies of different kinds. Keeping up with the trend and legitimising it, Apple has introduced a section to its App Store that is only dedicated to apps that cater to your selfie-taking needs.

The section is called ‘Sharing selfies’ and was made live on Thursday evening. The section includes apps like SnapChat, Everyday, Picr, Frontback, Shots and more. In all, the section lists 12 different apps.

The section is available both on the mobile and the desktop version of the Apple App Store.

The most recent selfie rage was that of Ellen DeGeneres’s Oscar selfie that created the world record for the most amounts of retweets and favorites in all of Twitter’s history.

The previous record was held by Barack Obama during election time.

The selfie also managed to crash the social media site for a while leaving many users locked out.

Selfies finally earned Apple’s attention after the rage it has been causing in 2013 and this year too. From Oscars to Crimea crisis, selfies have managed to invade every event.
