With NCP leader Padamsinh Patil "not cooperating" with investigators, CBI is considering brain mapping and other tests on him for his alleged involvement in the murder of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar.

Patil, who was arrested on June 6, is in CBI custody till June 14 and is being interrogated for his alleged role in the murder of Nimbalkar in June 2006. According to CBI sources, the MP has not been co-operating with the interrogators and has been "beating around the bush".

Patil is likely to be subjected to scientific tests like brain-mapping, if he continues to evade questions put forth by the CBI during interrogation, the sources said. Meanwhile, a team of forensic experts has arrived from Delhi to conduct tests on the two vehicles - one used by the accused to flee from the scene and the other belonging to
Nimbalkar in which he was shot dead.

The accused after shooting Nimbalkar and his driver Samad Kazi in Navi Mumbai, had fled from the scene in an Indica car, which was recovered by the CBI two weeks back from Panvel in a burnt condition. Besides Patil, the CBI has arrested four persons in the case - Mohan Shukla, Satish Mandade, Parasmal Jain and Dinesh Tiwari.
