Rains lash Nashik, one killed by lightning

A youth was killed and stored onions were damaged as the pre-monsoon rains lashed parts of this North Maharashtra district last evening, reports reaching here said on Saturday.

Pintu Pawar (22), a resident of Hire Nagar, was killed after being struck by lightning in Nandgaon tehsil town, they said. The rains lasted for half an hour. Tin-sheets of a Zilla Parishad school were blown due to stormy winds at Jalgaon Budruk, while power supply was affected due in some areas to snapping of electric wires, the reports quoting sources said.
