Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has said that Steven Gerrard is back just in time to kill off Manchester United's title dream.

Liverpool skipper Gerrard renews his partnership with Fernando Torres against Newcastle on Sunday after four weeks out with a groin injury.

The Sun quoted Benitez as saying that just the sight of his deadly duo will "psych out" the opposition.

He warned: "Sometimes it could be a psychological thing, yes. When the opposition see Fernando and Stevie in the team, maybe they do approach it with more caution."

"The team has done well without Stevie but we are stronger with him - he can change games. We know we have to win every game now and that United are in the best position. But if we get three points from every one, they have some difficult games," Benitez said.

"Manchester City and Arsenal will be very difficult while Middlesbrough away is always tough for them. So hopefully United will make mistakes," he added.

United are three points clear of the Kop going into Saturday's lunchtime clash with Boro.
