He’s someone who has never acted in front of a camera but is teaching the nuances of acting to the best stars in Bollywood. That’s Vidur Chaturvedi; his student list will beat even the most seasoned and renowned acting teachers in Bollywood.

Sources say Vidur’s success is due to the backing of two of the biggest names in Bollywood – Yash Chopra and Rakesh Roshan. Both of them had even sent their sons — Hrithik Roshan and Uday Chopra — to train under Vidur. It seems that Neil Mukesh, Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Priyanka Chopra, Emran Hashmi, Zayed Khan, Genelia D’ Souza, Soha Ali Khan and Arjun Rampal are some of the actors who’ve been taking acting lessons from his school in Four Bungalows, Andheri.

“I trained Anushka Sharma while she was doing Rab de Bana Di Jodi. I trained Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, as their parents requested me to coach them (when their debut movie Saawariya was being shot). In fact, it was Ranbir who urged me to branch out on my own. I also trained Katrina Kaif just before she started shooting for Yash Raj Films’ New York. I’m currently coaching her for Prakash Jha’s Rajniti,” says Vidur, the co-founder of the school called Kreating Charakters.

Primarily a small-time stage actor and director, he is now thinking of turning film-maker. In his entire career, he has co-directed only one Marathi film (released in 2007), Bhakti Heech Khari Shakti starring Ashok Saraf and Alka Kubal.

DNA cornered Neil Mukesh while he was shooting for the Zee TV’s reality show Dance India Dance with Mithun Chakraborty and Prabhu Deva to find out whether he is actually taking secret acting lessons.

“Yes, I have been taking acting lessons from the school. A lot of my colleagues don’t say it but I don’t want to hide the fact that I have been attending acting classes in Andheri. And I haven’t been doing it (learning acting) because I have been criticised for my acting but because I feel that I need to learn the finer nuances, especially when I am shooting for a big-budget movie,” ends Neil.
