I am thankful to the BJP for reposing faith in me and choosing me to contest from this new constituency. I am confident that I shall be able to justify the faith the party has put in me.
With delimitation, areas of Surat city account for more than half of the Navsari Lok Sabha seat. Navsari and Surat are just 30 km away, but there is a vast difference between the two places as far as development is concerned. Surat has experienced massive industrialisation in recent years, while Navsari has remained virtually untouched by it. Many industries have come up at Sachin, which is only 10 km from Navsari, but nothing in Navsari.
My priority will be to ensure that industries come up in and around Navsari city, which will create more job opportunities for local residents. Navsari's development will also reduce burden on the infrastructure of Surat.
Another major problem in Navsari is the flooding experienced by it several times during monsoon season. The flooding is mainly because rainwater from the Dangs flows directly towards Navsari. There is a need to divert the rainwater to rivers or canals to prevent flooding, which is something I would like to take up.
There are also issues related to textile and other industries, which I will try to address. Problems faced by migrant workers are also there to be taken up.
The performance of Kashiram Rana, who represented this area when it was a part of Surat seat, was good, but it is for the people to decide.
I am a common man — I have always lived among people — and this is something that will get me acceptance among voters. I am confident of getting support from voters of all castes and communities in the coming elections.
