Obama 'losing his mind' over Sasha's basketball dreams

US President Barack Obama is said to be "losing his mind" over his younger daughter Sasha's relay into the family's hoops tradition.

Obama has played basketball since his youth, and First Lady Michelle Obama's brother Craig Robinson is also the head basketball coach at Oregon State.

And, now, 7-year-old Sasha has also decided to join a basketball team.

First Lady Michelle Obama has revealed that her husband is extremely excited.

"Barack's losing his mind," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying during an interview to Oprah Winfrey for O Magazine.

"I was like, 'Settle down - don't act too excited, or she will not want to do it,'" she added.

Earlier this year, president Obama expressed his excitement over Sasha's plans to join a basketball team.

"Sasha, you know, I think maybe to endear myself to her, she - she decided she wanted to join a basketball team," Obama said on NBC. "So, what more could I want?" he said.
