Gopinath ropes in Nacil for engineering support

G R Gopinath, who will launch his logistic firm - Deccan Cargo and Express Logistics - in May, has signed up National Aviation Company of India Ltd (Nacil) for providing line maintenance and technical handling for the aircraft that would be used by his firm.

Under the pact, Deccan Cargo and Express has given the mandate to Nacil for providing end-to-end engineering support to its flights and operations.

Deccan Express Logistics is planning to begin its services on the Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Honk Kong routes offering dedicated cargo space to freight forwarders and consumers, who want to move international freight to these cities for time-definite delivery.

The company is preparing to induct its first batch of Airbus A-310 freighter aircraft which are currently being converted to cargo planes at an EADS facility in Dresden.

The letter of intent for the pact was signed on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Gopinath chairman & managing director, Deccan Cargo and Express Logistics, said, “As a precursor to the launch of Deccan Express Logistics’ services this May, we are getting ready to take delivery of three Airbus A-310 freighter aircraft and we have roped in Air India to provide end-to-end engineering support for our freighter aircraft fleet and operations.”
